How do I remount the covers on my Alfa Laval Welded Heat Exchanger Compabloc?
Check that the gasket is correctly in place.
Grease the threaded rods.
Using appropriate equipment, connect lifting slings on the cover lifting lugs, lift and move the cover back into its original position. Ensure the cover identification and alignment marks match the unit.
Install the tightening clamps: the hook bolts must be placed around the perimeter of the cover, while maintaining the original quantity, spacing and pitch.
Progressively tighten in a cross-pattern until the recommended torque is reached. Gradually tighten the diametrically opposed nuts with attention given maintaining an even gap between the cover and the unit flange. Do not apply the total recommended torque in one step. The tightening must be done in several steps: 60% of the recommended torque in the first step, and 100% of the recommended torque in the second step.
